Alois Zwinggi

President and CEO, World Economic Forum

Alois Zwinggi is Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of the World Economic Forum.

He has held senior leadership roles at the Forum since 2010, with responsibility for core institutional functions, operations and strategic initiatives. He has worked closely with global leaders from business, government and civil society to strengthen the Forum’s platform for dialogue and cooperation. During this time, he has also worked with the authorities in Switzerland to build a strong foundation for partnership.

Prior to joining the Forum, he spent more than 20 years with Holcim, a global leader in construction materials. He held executive leadership roles across Europe and Latin America, including senior positions in finance and operations in Mexico and Venezuela. During his tenure, he was responsible for business transformation, regional management and corporate functions in complex international markets.

He studied economics at the University of St. Gallen and completed executive education at Harvard Business School.
