Google Created This Feature to Help Blind People Take Selfies

Guided Frame uses precise audio guidance which tells you to move your phone up, down, left, or right. The phone vibrates when it’s in the sweet spot, and Google’s TalkBack tool says ‘Ready for selfie’ ‘3, 2, 1 Photo taken’. Google designed the feature in tandem with blind people. It’s just one example of an inclusive design, which can range from screenless braille computers to voice-controlled smart tools. More than 1.3 billion people worldwide experience disability; they have a combined spending power of $13 trillion. Although 90% of companies claim to prioritize diversity, only 4% of businesses are focused on making offerings inclusive of people with disabilities. Watch the video to learn more about Google’s new feature for blind people and some other similar innovations that promote diversity and inclusion.
