Top UK Companies Now Have 40% Female Board Members

A new report measures women’s representation in the FTSE 350, the UK’s most valuable public companies. In January 2023, the companies reached a 40.2% share of female board members. The proportion rose by 3% in 2022. The FTSE 100 - the UK’s 100 most valuable public companies – also made significant strides, reaching 40.5% female board members. It’s the first time this milestone has been reached. Globally, the gender gap in economic participation and opportunity has closed by 60.3%. At the current rate of progress, it will take 151 years for this to fully close.
