Humans have pumped so much groundwater that Earth has shifted on its axis

Earth is tipping to the east, say scientists at a rate of 4.36cm per year. The planet’s crust contains huge underground lakes called aquifers. Which hold 1,000 times as much water as all the lakes and rivers on the surface of Earth. Groundwater is pumped from underground for use in irrigation, industry and households. After which it gets discharged into the water cycle.
