Global Renewable Energy Capacity Grew by Almost 10% Last Year

In total, 295 GW of renewable energy capacity was added in 2022. But it needs to grow 3 times faster by 2030 if we are to limit global warming to 1.5˚C or less. Renewables made up 83% of all new power capacity added last year. Solar power accounted for almost 65% of new renewables. While wind power made up 25%. China was the biggest single contributor.
