Guan Wang

Founder and Chairman, Learnable.ai

Dr. Guan Royal Wang is the Founder and Chairman of Learnable.ai. He has led the team of Learnable.ai to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in AI, including the lack of computational precision, logical rigor, and online learning capabilities in large language models. His breakthroughs have been recognized by the global AI community—Hugging Face ranked his work among the "4 Most Prevalent Papers on RLHF". He was honored to give keynote speech at the World Laureates Forum. The story of his lab has been featured in a cover story by The New Yorker.

Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. from Brown University, he has previously worked at Microsoft Research, the University of Washington, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In 2017, he founded Learnable.ai at the Harvard Innovation Labs, and then got incubated at MIT. Since 2021, Learnable’s self-developed SPT model has been applied for grading and education assessment in high school and college entrance exams for five consecutive years, covering more than 30 million students and 3 billion problems each year. Learnable’s AI model outperformed human graders in precision, speed, cost-efficiency, and scalability. It provides data-driven scoring recommendations to ensure fairness and scientific rigor, while immediately correcting human grading errors—significantly enhancing the integrity and reliability of large-scale assessments.

Besides education, Dr. Wang has led Learnable.ai to empower multiple industries including publishing, power grid, cloud services, finance, manufacturing, and bio-med. Learnable.ai operates in USA and Asia, serving global clients and users.
