Expert in global food security from a systems perspective: from production and its impacts on the environment to trade, manufacturing and retail, and impacts on nutrition and health. Specific focus on thinking about making food systems sustainable and resilient in the face of climate change and able to deliver food and nutrition security to all. Works with governments, industry and civil society; conducts research in the developed and developing world. University academic at Leeds, UK; and Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, London.
