Suphachai Chearavanont

Chief Executive Officer, CP Group

Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont is the Chief Executive Officer of Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd. (C.P. Group), one of Asia's leading conglomerates that consists of over 100 companies operating in 22 countries and territories across a wide range of sectors, including agri-food, retail and telecommunications. He also serves as the Chair of the Board of True Corporation Plc. (listed on the Thai Stock Exchange), where he was previously President and Chief Executive Officer, and oversees Group-wide strategies on sustainability policies and corporate communications.

Mr. Chearavanont holds a number of positions to promote global and local public-private partnership. He has been a member of the Thai Government’s Independent Committee for Educational Reform since May 2017 and Chairperson of Thailand’s United Nations Global Compact Local Network: Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT) since 2017.

Education and youth development is an area close to his heart. He established True Corporation’s public initiative – True Plook Panya that delivers education to underprivileged children in over 6,000 schools Thailand’s rural areas. He has also led the public-private partnership called “ConnextED” to strengthen Thailand’s educational system in over 5,000 schools nationwide.

In recognition of his active contributions to the national education agenda, he has been appointed, since August 2024, as Chairperson of the Executive Committee overseeing the Office of National Education Standards and Quality Assessment. Its mission is to promote and strengthen quality education nationwide. Moreover, he sits on One Young World’s Global Advisory Board. One Young World is the world’s biggest and most impactful youth leadership forum. Since November 2024, he has become a member of Harvard University’s Global Advisory Council.

Mr. Chearavanont founded the Council of Digital Economy and Society in Thailand, which aims to transform the country into a digital innovation hub, and of which he serves as Senior Chairman. He is also an active member of the World Economic Forum and co-chaired the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian, China in 2019.

Mr. Chearavanont graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration focusing on Financial Management from Boston University, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree in Mass Communications from Ramkhamhaeng University in March 2016.
