The key to my research is to understand the role of the physical properties of snow and ice on global climate. I focus on critical physical processes in snow/ice-atmosphere interactions and their influence on the energy and mass balance of cold regions, including the subsequent effects on freshwater resources, ice core records and climate change, and sea ice evolution in the context of climate change.
