Julio Velarde serves as Governor of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP), a role he has held since 2006. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico (Peru) and a M.A. from Brown University, where he is also a PhD (c) in Economics. Throughout his career, he has held prominent positions, including Executive President at the Latin America Reserve Fund (FLAR), member of the BCRP Board on two occasions, and Chairman of the Consultative Council for the Americas (CCA) at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). He has also been honored as Professor Emeritus at Universidad del Pacífico. His leadership has been instrumental in maintaining Peru’s Economic stability and growth.
