Leading some of the most vibrant, sustainable and award-winning communities in the Middle East, Hawazen Esber is responsible for Majid Al Futtaim’s pioneering philosophy to create human-centric destinations that bridge people, businesses and culture.

As the Chief Executive Officer of Majid Al Futtaim - Communities, Hawazen oversees flagship developments such as Tilal Al Ghaf and Al Zahia in the United Arab Emirates, Waterfront City in Lebanon, and Al Mouj Muscat and Tilal Al Irfan in the Sultanate of Oman. These communities encompass more than 13 million sqm of integrated residential, retail, commercial, hospitality, leisure and entertainment experiences, including 30,000 residential units which are already home to 10,000 residents from over 85 nationalities.

Hawazen is also Vice Chairman of the Board at Al Mouj Muscat, Tilal Al Irfan and a Board member of Sharjah Holding.

Over the last three decades, Hawazen has held leadership positions in organisations around the world. Starting his career with Kajima Corporation in Tokyo, before transferring to its office in London. He then moved back to the Middle East where he was the General Manager of Property Development at Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Vice President for Investments at AIG Global Real Estate, CEO of Bena Properties, and CEO of Al Mouj Muscat.

Hawazen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from Damascus University, and a Masters in Building Engineering and Architecture from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. He is also a RIBA & JIA chartered member and is fluent in Arabic, English, French and Japanese.
