Vattenfall is one of Europe's largest generators of electricity and the largest producer of heat. Its main products are electricity, heat and gas. In electricity and heat, Vattenfall works in all parts of the value chain: generation, distribution and sales. In gas, it is active in sales. It conducts energy trading and lignite mining. The group has approximately 31,800 employees. In 2013, it operated in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland and the United Kingdom, with consolidated net sales of around €20 billion.
