Reporters without Borders (RSF)

Founded in 1985, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is a leading non-governmental and non-profit organization in the defence and promotion of freedom of information. Based in Paris, RSF has consultative status at the United Nations, UNESCO, the Council of Europe and the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF). It has foreign sections, bureaux in 10 cities and a network of correspondents in 130 countries. It issues press releases and reports in French, English, Spanish, Arabic and Farsi (and often in others, such as Chinese, Portuguese and Russian) about the state of freedom of information worldwide and how it is being violated.
