The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) was established in 1991 as an independent, non-profit international organization. It builds human and institutional capacity for good governance and sustainable development in Africa. The foundation has empowered governments, parliaments, civil society, private sector and higher education institutions in 45 countries and six regional economic communities. ACBF supports capacity development through investments and grants, technical support, and knowledge generation and sharing. Its main partners are governments, the African Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme and World Bank.
