Moritz is a private investor, board member, and advisor to many founders of the most important 3D, AI, and frontier technology companies, such as Decart, Etched, OpenAI, Palantir, Recursive, and SpaceX. Today, these portfolio companies represent more than $100 billion ARR and over $4 trillion in aggregate valuations—resulting in top 1% IRR and DPI track records. A longtime world models advocate, he is also a founding member of General Intuition, the research lab that pioneered general action policies based on video games, valued at $6.2 billion. Investors include Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, and Jeff Bezos. In parallel, Moritz is a senior advisor to McKinsey, OpenAI, TPG, and the World Economic Forum, driving AI transformation projects across interactive media. Every year, he hosts the CEO Forum at GDC, which has become the world's largest gathering of gaming leaders. Previously, Moritz was a senior partner and investment committee member at Lightspeed, a leading global VC firm with $43 billion under management and over 200 exits. Portfolio includes Anduril, Anthropic, Cognition, Databricks, Fireworks, Ineffable, Discovery Loop, Mistral, Neuralink, Ramp, Reflection, SpaceX, SSI, Stripe, Suno, and xAI. Earlier, he helped scale VC firm BITKRAFT to $850 million in assets as a partner and management team member. Before that, he was a top-ranked vice president at Goldman Sachs, where he founded and led the firm’s global gaming practice. During his tenure, Moritz advised clients on over $300 billion in M&A, IPOs, and other transactions. Preceding his Silicon Valley and Wall Street career, Moritz worked as a data scientist at IBM. A lifelong gamer, Moritz ranked #1 among over 12 million players of Blizzard’s Diablo II as a teenager. The first in his family to graduate high school, he funded his college tuition by selling items earned in-game—two decades before digital asset trading went mainstream. Moritz holds an M.B.A. and M.A. from Stanford, where he graduated as Arjay Miller Scholar and ERP Scholar (“German Rhodes”). He previously studied machine learning, philosophy, and psychology at Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, and the Berlin School of Economics.
