Formerly, with: Kiel Institute of World Economics, Germany; Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris; NMB Bank (now ING), Netherlands. With the World Bank for 22 years, 16 of which in the East Asia region: early years working on Brazil, South Africa, Mongolia, Zambia and Namibia; spent more than five years in Indonesia as it was recovering from the Asian Crisis; former Lead Economist, China, heading a team that provided economic policy advice to the government; former Country Director, Philippines, responsible for a growing portfolio of projects and advisory services to the Philippines government; 2011, moved to Singapore; until Sept. 2014, Chief Economist, East Asia and Pacific Region and Director, Singapore Office; from Sept. 2014, Country Director, China, Korea and Mongolia.
