Conserving, restoring and growing 1 trillion trees by 2030 is achievable

Trees and forests are a critical part of the solution to the climate crisis and biodiversity collapse. That’s why we aim to mobilize, connect, and empower the global reforestation community to conserve, restore and grow one trillion trees by 2030.

We are part of the World Economic Forum’s work to accelerate nature-based solutions in support of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030), supported by funding from Marc and Lynne Benioff from the Marc R. Benioff Foundation.

1. Mobilizing private-sector ambition and engagement

1t.org provides a global leadership platform for companies from all sectors and regions. Participating companies commit to action for forest conservation, restoration and reforestation, act with integrity and transparency, and demonstrate leadership in support of the global restoration movement.          

2. Facilitating regional multistakeholder partnerships

1t.org facilitates regional multistakeholder partnerships to accelerate the implementation of conservation, restoration and reforestation goals in key geographies. 1t.org’s portfolio of regional platforms currently includes the US, the Amazon and the Great Green Wall Initiative for the Sahel.

3. Inspiring innovation and ecopreneurship

1t.org supports the acceleration of the global ecopreneurship movement at the grassroots level. This includes a series of UpLink Challenges and Accelerator programmes, collaboration with youth networks, capacity-building opportunities and communication channels.
