Charlotte Stix

Doctoral Candidate, Eindhoven University of Technology

Charlotte Stix is the Coordinator for the European Commission's High-Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence. Charlotte is pursuing a PhD at the Eindhoven University of Technology, researching the ethics and governance of artificial intelligence and serves as Expert to the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Neurotechnologies and as Fellow to the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, University of Cambridge.

Formerly, she was a Researcher at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, University of Cambridge, a Fellow to the World Economic Forum's AI Council, and a Programme Officer at the European Commission's Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Unit, where she oversaw €18 million in projects and contributed to the formulation of EU-wide AI strategy. She was also an Advisor to AI start-up Element AI, a Policy Officer at the World Future Council, and a Founder of an award winning culture magazine, which she grew from scratch to a team of 15.

She is awarded as a 2020 Forbes' 30 under 30 (Europe) and was named a Young Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum.

Charlotte runs the bi-monthly EuropeanAI newsletter with >1700 subscribers, widely seen as the definitive resource for insights into developments in AI policy across the European Union.
